About Northern Indivisible
Neighbors in the Western U.P. who believe democracy works better when regular people show up.
Our Story
Northern Indivisible started the way most good things start in the U.P. — a handful of neighbors who decided it was time to do something. We’re based in Gogebic and Iron Counties, and we believe that the people who live here should have a real voice in the decisions that affect our communities.
We’re not a political party. We’re teachers, veterans, retirees, small-business owners, parents, and working people who think that honest government, fair treatment, and strong communities aren’t partisan ideas — they’re common sense. Whether you’ve been organizing for decades or you’re just starting to pay attention, there’s a place for you here.
What We Stand For
These aren’t slogans — they’re the principles that guide every decision we make.
Honest, Accountable Leadership
Elected officials work for us. We hold them accountable — respectfully, persistently, and publicly.
Government That Works for Everyday People
Healthcare you can afford. Schools that work. Infrastructure that doesn’t crumble. These aren’t radical demands.
Democracy That Reflects the People’s Will
Every eligible voter should be able to vote easily. Every vote should count equally. Period.
Fairness and Dignity for Every Person
No matter where you come from, what you look like, or who you love — you deserve to be treated with respect.
Strong, Connected Communities
The U.P. is strongest when neighbors look out for each other. We build those connections — across town lines and across differences.
Local Action, Real Impact
National politics matter, but change starts at home. We focus on what we can do right here in the Western U.P.
Our Relationship with Indivisible
Northern Indivisible is a locally registered Indivisible group serving Gogebic and Iron Counties. We follow Indivisible’s national principles of nonviolence, inclusion, and grassroots power — but we make our own decisions about local priorities and actions. You may have known us as Yooper Indivisible — we updated our name to better reflect the communities we serve across the Western Upper Peninsula.
Meet the Team
Northern Indivisible is powered by volunteers — real neighbors who give their time because they believe in this work.
